I recently ran across these 5 Simple Rules for Happiness on Pinterest and they stopped me in my virtual tracks for a bit.
Like a lot of you, I’m sure, I see many inspiring quotes and sayings and lists on Pinterest and Facebook. But this one really resonated with me because it’s so simple. And so complete.
I wasn’t able to find the originator, but after a little Googling I’m thinking it must be based on this quote by Rev. Norman Vincent Peale:
“The way to happiness: Keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry. Live simply, expect little, give much. Scatter sunshine, forget self, think of others. Try this for a week and you will be surprised.” – Norman Vincent Peale, The Power of Positive Thinking
I printed off a couple of copies of the rules off and put one in my office and one in my kitchen. After living with them for a while, I realized that they make a perfect prayer. As in asking God to help me do all of these things. That’s how I plan to use them.
