New Kitchen Light Fixtures and UPS My Choice Review

by Julie on November 19, 2012 · 8 comments

The kitchen remodel is continuing and this morning I made what felt like my 10,429th decision.

I’m over decisions. And dust. And having workmen arrive at my house at 8am every day.

But the remodel has given me the opportunity to test drive a service I recently learned about:  UPS My Choice.

UPS My Choice alerts you before packages arrive. You can choose if you want alerts the day before, the morning of, or both. You can also choose if you want to receive alerts by email, text, or voice.

If the delivery date and time don’t work with your schedule, you can choose to have the delivery rerouted to a UPS facility for pickup (free) or have the delivery day or location changed ($5 fee). You can also select the premium plan and choose the 2 hour window of your delivery.

Signup for UPS My Choice is free, as are the basic features. I signed up to give it a try and was emailed yesterday that two light fixtures I ordered for the kitchen are scheduled to be delivered today between 9:45 and 1:45.

I can imagine that this service will come in very handy during Christmas season, especially for packages that I don’t want to sit on my porch for long periods of time while I’m away from home.

So I’m looking forward to delivery of these light fixtures sometime today:

Those light fixtures are beautiful! I love the classic lines!

My only advice would be to stock up on the light bulbs that you’ll need now (before they become obsolete in favor of oh-so-attractive CFs).

Good point, Cincy. Thanks!

I like the second one. It is very original and artistic.

Thanks, Miss T. To me it has kind of an architectural thing going on, which I like a lot.

Love the orb chandelier! I also love the UPS My Choice idea. That will come in really handy for me this season as well.

The Petite Orb Chandelier is great. I’ll have to check out the UPS My Choice service. We always seem to have problems getting our packages delivered in our apartment complex. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I have never heard of UPS My Choice, but what a great concept! Our UPS delivery person sometimes delivers things at 8 pm. Knowing that ahead of time, or at least that it will be arriving late in the day would be very helpful. Also rerouting to the UPS hub would come in handy sometimes! I will look into this in my area and sign up. Thanks for the information.

Thanks for all the feedback, everyone. I debated a long while on the orb chandelier, so it’s nice to know you all like it.
