You may remember that last month I blogged about my front door makeover. I painted the back of the door the same black as the front, spray painted the kick plate brushed nickel, and bought new new hardware to match.
One part of the door that I have no desire to make over, however, is the address decal on the front.
I applied our address numbers to the front of the door a couple of years ago, primarily to dress the door up a bit.
It turns out the numbers have a practical side too, as it makes our address easier to see. Our metal address numbers are sunken in the brick at the side of our garage and they’re hard to make out, especially at night.

I especially like the metal door numbers. Our community fire department recently sent notices for homeowners to make sure their numbers were visible from the street. These are decorative and practical because they are easy to see.
